Lodge History

Bryanston Lodge was formed to bridge the gap between Johannesburg and Pretoria. The founders decided to follow the 'English' tradition of meetin earlier and dining afterwards. The first meeting place was the Methodist Church Hall but the Lodge now meets five times a year at the Rivonia Recreation Club, with the Installation meeting being held at Freemasons' Hall, Parktown.

Since consecration the Lodge has grown steadily and can fairly claim - in its own words - that 'it has vigorously pursued the charitable aims of Freemasonry.

The WM in 1977/8, W Bro Norman Clark, has served the District well since his first appointment as D G Steward, and after several promotions was appointed an Assistant District Grand Master in 1991 and was accorded Grand honours in 1992.
