Lodge History

Park Lane Lodge Banner

Park Lane was formed to carry the name of the District headquarters and in the expectation that it would be available to serve as a masonic home for brethren relocating to the Transvaal.

The Lodge has had a good and fairly continuous intake of new members. However, with only three of its founders being available to go through the chair it has taken a number of years to establish a clear progression of offices within the Lodge. One consequence of this was that the Charter Master, W Bro Doug Cook, has occupied the chair six times. No doubt his very hard work for the Lodge contributed to his receiving Grand honours in 1990.

As a 'District headquarters'lodge, Park Lane has sought to assist other lodges, by supporting them in their workings or by providing joining members. It was one of the earliest lodges to qualify for the Heritage Fund jewel, and has recently expanded the range of its activities by becoming paired with Highveld Lodge, No 7750.
